Privacy Policy – Hamster Soup Forever
This policy applies to the Hamster Soup Forever mobile app (by Mutant Soup). It describes how we handle information when you use the app.
1. Information we collect and use
- Usage and analytics. We use PostHog for product analytics. Analytics are processed under PostHog’s privacy policy and your in-app or device privacy choices where applicable.
- Crash data. If you choose to share crash data with developers through Apple (for example in Settings), we may receive anonymized crash reports through Apple’s tools.
- Push notifications. If you enable notifications, we use the mechanisms Apple provides to send you updates (such as feed or summary alerts) for that purpose.
- Preferences and data on your device. Settings, feed caches, and similar data stay on your device. We do not upload your preferences to our servers.
- In-app purchases. Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. We do not store your payment details; we only receive what Apple needs to confirm a purchase or restore so the app can unlock features.
- iCloud. The app uses iCloud to support various features, and may register CloudKit subscriptions so it can refresh when that data changes. These requests go through Apple’s systems and are subject to Apple’s privacy policy and terms, and to your Apple ID and device settings where applicable.
2. Content from other sources
The app shows content from third-party websites (for example, show news and houseguest information). We do not treat that material as personal data about you; it is displayed only inside the app. Some summaries use the on-device AI features described in the next section.
3. AI features
Certain features use on-device intelligence provided by Apple on Apple Silicon (for example, summaries or recaps). They run entirely on your iPhone or iPad—nothing you provide to those features, and nothing they produce, is sent to our servers or to a cloud AI service. Processing is designed to be efficient and to have a light impact on battery during typical use.
4. Third-party services
- PostHog – product analytics. See PostHog Privacy.
- Apple – iCloud (including CloudKit where used), purchases, push notifications, and related services. Governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your device settings.
5. Data storage and security
We rely on industry-standard practices and the security of the third-party services above. Information kept on your device stays on your device. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Your choices
- You can turn off push notifications in your device Settings.
- You can limit or reset advertising/analytics via your device’s privacy and advertising settings; some analytics may still be collected for product improvement.
- In-app purchase and subscription data is managed through your Apple ID and device settings.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date below will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
